“The fight is done, we lost,” the Jedi Master says in the first trailer of the forthcoming series “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” but the saga continues.
Actor Ewan McGregor reprises his role as Jedi Master/Obi-Wan Kenobi in the forthcoming “Star Wars” limited series. Slated to premiere on Disney+ on May 25, the six-episode show takes place a decade after the events in “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith” (2005), “where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat: the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader,” as per its official synopsis.
Also reprising his role is Hayden Christensen as he portrays young Darth Vader again. The cast also features Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse as Luke’s uncle and aunt, Owen Lars and Beru Whitesun Lars, and Rupert Friend as The Grand Inquisitor, the highest-ranking Inquisitor of the Galactic Empire—a character that made its debut in the animated series “Star Wars: Rebels.”
Leading the show is Deborah Chow, who sat as director from some episodes in the 2019 “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian.”
