ECHO may have already shocked the MPL Philippines Season 9 with its surprising picks in the past few games but head coach Michael Angelo “Arcadia” Bocado bared the squad still has a lot of tricks in the pocket halfway through the MPL regular season.
ECHO had utilized surprise picks in the past games with a Johnson-Kadita combo during its sweep of Blacklist and the recently buffed Diggie and its rarely used roaming Natalia picks in its 2-0 win against RSG Philippines.
Coach Brian “Panda” Lim admitted that the Diggie and Natalia picks threw RSG off-guard which led to the lopsided win for the side of ECHO.
The mind behind the popular ‘Feeding Diggie’ strat a few seasons back, Coach Arcadia bared that the squad still has plenty of ace up its sleeves.
In fact, he can’t also predict what his main five can do after cruising to a perfect 5-0 record.
“Di naman siguro sa pagmamayabang, actually meron kami dito na we can consider na good problem kasi sa ngayon nandun kami sa point na di na namin alam kung ano yung lalabas sa aming bala kasi ang dami naming bala sa ngayon,” Arcadia told reporters following its victory against RSG last Saturday.
He also added that fans should watch out for other pocket strats and surprise picks.
“Ang dami naming pocket picks, pocket meta na pwede naming ilabas anytime so ayun kumbaga abang-abang na lang na kung ano yung malalabas namin in a certain series,” he added
The champion tactician also revealed that he employed a different approach for this season as he wanted their opponents to adjust to their game and not the other way around.
“This season kasi nag-iba kami ng approach sa laro gusto namin na sila mag aadjust, di kami mag aadjust para sa inyo kumbaga gusto namin na laruin m yung ibibigay namin na lineup,” said the veteran coach.
ECHO will have a heavy schedule in Week 4 as it will face M3 World Championship runner-up Onic Philippines before it takes on last season’s No. 4 team Nexplay Evos in a highly anticipated clash that will pit Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera to his former team.
