Balita proposes to include agriculture in STEM program (Sabong News)

TABUK, Kalinga — Aksyon Demokratiko senatorial candidate Carl Balita on Saturday, March 5, said he was keen on seeking the addition of agriculture as part of the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses if elected senator in the upcoming elections.
“Dito ko po sasabihin for the first time, bilang nagiisang guro sa kampanyang ito sa lahat ng nga tumatakbong senador, ako po ay nanganagarap na singitan ng letter A ang STEM para siya maging STEAM (I will say this here for the first time, as the only teacher in this campaign among all the senators running, I am planning of inserting the letter A into STEM so that it can become STEAM) ,” Balita said during a town hall meeting.
“At ang letter A na ‘yan ay agrikultura (and the letter A stands for agriculture),” he added.
The inclusion of agriculture in STEM courses would solve the lack of technology and science in the sector.
‘”Yan po ang gusto kong mangyari sapagkat ang ating magsasaka ay nangangailangan ng teknolohiya, at ang teknolohiyang iyan ay makukuha nila sa kanilang murang edad biglang mga senior high school (That’s what I want to happen because our farmers need technology, and that technology, they can get it at their young age as senior high schools).”
