A total of 151 corrections officers has been hired by the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) to beef up its personnel in its seven prison facilities in the country.
In a statement, BuCor said the newly hired personnel, who will fill up the third batch for 2021, are set to take their oaths of office on Monday, March 7.
It said Director General Geraldo Q. Bantag has been strengthening the bureau’s personnel complement to attain full realization of its modernization as mandated by Republic Act No. 10575, the Bureau of Corrections Act of 2013.
“Those candidates from NBP (New Bilibid Prison) are hereby instructed to proceed to the NBP Sunken Garden ground, Muntinlupa City, on Monday, 07 March 2022, at 0700H for briefing and preparation for the Oathtaking Ceremony,” BuCor said.
“Those for the IPPF (Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm), SRPPF (San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm), DPPF (Davao Prison and Penal Farm), and SPPF (Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm) may proceed to the respective offices of the penal farms for instructions from the superintendents,” it said.
Last February, BuCor announced it started accepting applications for corrections officers for its 2022 recruitment cycle.
