Duterte suspends e-sabong (Sabong News)

Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto 3rd said on Monday that President Rodrigo Duterte has agreed to suspend e-sabong (electronic cockfighting).
The senator and vice presidential candidate made the revelation during a chance interview.
Sotto and his running mate, Sen. Panfilo "Ping" Lacson met with fishermen and later attended a town hall meeting with local officials here.
"Kausap ni (The) President si (was talking with) Senator dela Rosa at (and) inilapit ni Senator dela Rosa (discussed the) ang resolution [with the President)," Sotto said.
It was Sotto who moved to suspend the license of online cockfighting operators during the Senate investigation on the missing individuals.
On February 24, the senator moved for the adoption of a resolution urging the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) to suspend e-sabong operation. He made the motion "to thoroughly investigate the missing cockfighters."
Sen. Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa, chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Order, said that e-sabong was a "multibillion industry."
The concerned 7 e-sabong firms are Belvedere Vista Corporation; Lucky 8 Star Quest Incorporated; Visayas Cockers Club Incorporated; Jade Entertainment and Gaming Technologies Incorporated; Newin Cockers Alliance Gaming Corporation; Philippine Cockfighting International Incorporated; and Golden Buzzer, Incorporated.
