Manila authorities have arrested 14 individuals in Balut, Tondo, Manila on Saturday (August 29) for holding illegal cockfight amid general community quarantine (GCQ).
Authorities from the Raxabago Police Station conducted an operation and arrested individuals who are residents of Tondo, Navotas City, Malabon City and Caloocan City.

Station 1 Commander Lt. Col. Cristopher Navida also reported two game fowls were seized including P4,800 cash. He also advised the public to follow health protocols to prevent the spread of the virus.
“We encourage our kababayan to work hand-in-hand in order for us to lessen the transmission of COVID-19. Let us stop this illegal gambling activity (cockfighting) and save our money for the basic needs of our family,” he said.
